if Lego made perfume…

Actually, there are over 100.
The Legos were dumped out on the table and the grandkids and I chatted away during many cold winter nights.
While the little ones made houses and trucks and planes, I started making perfume bottles.

Lego Perfume Bottles made of the smallest Lego pieces.

Lego Perfume Bottles made of the smallest Lego pieces.

I made more and more.
2 Lego Perfume Bottles
It became an obsession.
3 Lego Perfume Bottles collection
The rules were simple: No pieces could be forced, all the bottles had to be built like normal Lego building and they all had to stick together properly. There is just one bottle out of all of them that isn’t stuck together and the pieces fall apart if you turn it upside down. Can you guess which one?
4 Lego Perfume Bottles collection
So much color and sparkle from such a tiny source!
5 Lego Perfume Bottles collection
Perfume Nation.
6 Lego Perfume Bottles collection
At one point, we counted 124 different Lego perfume bottles.
Then some got disassembled to make different designs.
7 Lego Perfume Bottles collection
And then we started naming them.
8 Lego Perfume Bottles
So I made a poster of 100 of the Lego perfume bottles to be named.
This is a very large image. Click to access the original size in order to see all the detail.

Some of these Lego perfumes don’t have names. Please leave name suggestions in the comments and I’ll add them to the Lego Perfume Bottles poster.

Feel free to copy, save or print the poster. If you post on your website, please link back to allsparkledup.com. Thank you!

Edited to add: I was asked what lighting I used for the photography. The photos were taken in the late afternoon, west sun through half-curtain window. The top of the arch window had plenty of sun streaming through which bounced off my white kitchen cabinets behind me like a giant white board, exactly as I hoped when we redid the kitchen. Camera- Canon 5D2, Lens Canon EF 24-70, hand-held.

The little bird liked the peanut butter-smeared, birdseed-sprinkled pine cone we wired to the old branch.

It’s a beautiful snowy day.

In her little black boots, she stepped lightly between the trees. I observed her world, being ever so careful not to disturb the magic.

She had the dress but needed something for her hair. So I made her a floral hair wreath and wand. But she provided all the magic.

Glorious SUN!

That had to be all caps because it’s remarkable. Ever since moving into this house 13 years ago, our dining room didn’t have sun in it. Until now. We are nearly done with the remodel so last night we moved the dining room table out of the living room and back into the dining room. And this afternoon… Afternoon, mind you!!! … I sat at the table to plan an impromptu Wine & Cheese tasting party. IN. THE. SUN. Honestly, I had trouble concentrating on my notes because of the sun. Glorious sun!
There are no windows on the west side of our house and the roof has a big overhang so our home gets very little direct sun in it. The solution was two arch windows extending as high as possible in the west wall. I’ll make a blog post with more details soon.
Just look at this!

First sitting at the table in the sun!

First sitting at the table in the sun!

To anyone else, that photo would be completely unremarkable. But I’m an artist, photographer and lover of sunshine. To not have sun is like Michelangelo having no paint. There are no accessories or furniture in the world as glorious as sun. I can’t believe I actually get to live here!

I hope I never get to the point of taking something so basic for granted. I basked in sun today.

Sorry I haven’t posted for a bit. We’re doing a bit of remodeling. We put two windows in a wall that had none. Woot! But here’s a photo while you wait. I just put this photo, Fork, on my 500px account.

Fork.

Fork.

I have enough photos that I could post one a day for a year. I’ll try to post photos when I don’t have time to write. Thinking of you all!

That’s the name of a British research vessel, built in 1764. The HMS Endeavour explored uncharted oceans in the South Pacific.
The Little Plastic Bears long for the sea in the Endeavor. The Little Plastic Bears long for the sea in the Endeavor
But the tide didn’t come in.
Longing for the sea
The ts Endeavor (toy ship Endeavor) piloted by Little Plastic Bears never made it to sea, despite her best effort to summon the waves.

Despite her best effort to call the waves, the bears didn't make it to sea.

Despite her best effort to beckon the waves closer, the bears didn’t make it to sea.

NOTE: If you would like to purchase a print of that photo, it is listed here on 500px.

Perhaps this year we shall sail.

Perhaps next time we shall sail.
