That’s the name of a British research vessel, built in 1764. The HMS Endeavour explored uncharted oceans in the South Pacific.
The Little Plastic Bears long for the sea in the Endeavor.
But the tide didn’t come in.
The ts Endeavor (toy ship Endeavor) piloted by Little Plastic Bears never made it to sea, despite her best effort to summon the waves.
NOTE: If you would like to purchase a print of that photo, it is listed here on 500px.
The photos in this post mean a lot to me. I was only able to walk to the ocean briefly twice and couldn’t even sit down in a folding chair because I had a broken back and was all trussed up in a tight brace. The pain was tremendous. My husband had to carry my camera and my granddaughter carried a bag with the ship and bears in it. I had asked God to please let me get at least one good photo while we were at the beach for a week. God gave me perfect sun, perfect clouds and peace. Instead of one good photo, I got over a dozen. God is amazing! He helped me get down on my knees and he helped me get up again. And it’s pretty peachy to have a best friend that can command the wind, waves and sun like that.
Julia, what an inspiration you are to all of us who are blessed to know you. I have always loved your photos and stories, and am happy to see you are still “shooting” the little plastic bears. The shot of your lovely granddaughter trying to command the waves is priceless. Love you always ~

Dear Jeanette, you say the most kind things! Thank you! I’m hoping to get the Little Plastic Bears website together next year. I have several short tales photographed and have more adventures in mind. My granddaughter adores the bears and I’m hoping to have a website that she’ll have fun on too. Hugs to you, sister in the West! Maybe I’ll get out there some day. :)
Oh, how sweet! And that “summoning” photo is spectacular, Julia!
