I really ought to stop playing with the beads. But once they become a bracelet, they will never again live an alternate life as Words.

Love.

The beads are not glued down. One breath or tiny bump to the table sends all the round ones scrambling. Such a challenge to patience! The position is so fleeting. Then I brush them back into the bins and the surface is once again bare.

…shine.

Shine!

These beads are from a bracelet kit from Gilded Girls. I looked at the pile of beads and wires and felt there was more to it than just a bracelet. Maybe it was the wing that gave me pause.
Don’t forget to slow down and shine.

Gold Embroidered Sequin Lace

A gorgeous piece of lace arrived from Gilded Life. It is stunning!

Aqua Sequin Lace

When I really love something, I wonder “Why do I like this so much?”
After doing a little thinking, it occurred to me that the aqua and gold are colors in a mug my grandmother made for me in 1968. I was 10 years old.

The "Julie" mug my grandmother made for me in 1968.

The shell pink of her prim handwriting, the pale aqua wash of the man’s shirt, the blue, pink and green are my favorite colors. No wonder I love that sparkling gold and aqua fabric.

Orange! Yellow! Amber!

The clean crystal and Thanksgiving dishes haven’t even been put away and they’re already sharing the table with crafts. I got a new bead order from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads for All Sparkled Up Etsy projects. Warm ambers, juicy oranges and sunny yellow! These are colors I rarely use so it was really exciting to get something new.  I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on such great colors for years.

Amber, orange and yellow beads.

Funny how our tastes change over the years.  My favorite colors are still aqua, pale shell pink and creamy pearl. But lately I’ve been on an orange kick. I love the visual tang!

Bead Plans

I’ve been busy writing notes and drawing sketches for items for the All Sparkled Up Etsy shop. So many items! And many beads to put on the items and more ways to sparkle something up. I am grateful to have lovely and promising things to think about. :) What we fill our minds with is a choice. Tonight I choose this pretty box.

Beaded Notebooks

I needed to write a couple notes today in a notebook and found these little beaded beauties from long ago. They were cut from larger notebooks but you can easily use a full size notebook.

If you want to make one, just unwind the spring coil from a notebook and add beads as you put the spring back on the pages.  Don’t fill each coil all the way with beads or the covers won’t be able to open fully.  Add a few rounds of beads and test how the notebook opens before completing the beading.

After she leaves, my three year old granddaughter usually leaves a path of sparkle for me to clean up. ‘Tis the pleasantest of chores.
